Seed Grants
The GCRI is currently providing seed funding for research initiatives within the scope of its mission. The seed funds are meant to support pursuing initiatives which support the broad research mission of GCRI. Examples include support for research teams to pursue upcoming large project opportunities or form a thematic-focused research group in an area related to the GCRI mission.
Seed funds can be used for travel expenses, meeting support, staff support, etc., as they relate to pursuing the proposed initiative and enhancing its chances of being successful.
Seed funding expectations include a reasonable discernment of obtaining external funding from various agencies (e.g. NSF, NCS, ARM, DoD, NASA, DARPA, STTR, NRI, etc.), and more broadly enhancing GCRI’s mission as it relates to research engagement.
The duration of seed funding is expected to be application/project specific and outlined in the application. It will normally be for one year or less. Modifications to the duration of funding will need approval.
